and the hits just keep on coming

i can’t decide if something’s retrograde or if my life just sucks…

…it’s been a rough one.

all was well till about 6am on thursday. that’s when the irs thing happened. on the upside, the day ended nicely with ufc time and a show by ghost:

so that was nice. but i’ve been having some ac issues in the bmw, and from what i read online it was one of three things:

the panel in the dash
the regulator for the blower
the blower motor

so i got all three off eBay from some bmw recycler places. total run of $100 even. the blower motor came in first, but i figured that was the least likely culprit (plus it looked like the most difficult to install) so it’s still sitting in the box. the next in was the regulator, which fit but looked different and appears to have arrived DOA.

i say “appears” to have arrived because i hooked it up and it didn’t work, but plugging in the one that was removed and acting squirrelly it seemed to work well…until i actually put it in, then it didn’t. and still doesn’t. don’t know if it’s the wire or the part, but the blower motor appears to be in the clear, so the new trio of terror making me sweat (both figuratively and literally) is:

the panel in the dash
the regulator for the blower
the wiring in between the two

so we’ll have to see. the first is en route from canada and expected to be delivered on monday. the second is being boxed up and shipped from houston HOPEFULLY today or monday to replace the one that’s theoretically defective from friday’s debacle. (i can’t help but wonder if i’d left well enough alone if the problem would have just slowly gotten worse versus pushing the issue as it did) and the last one has yet to be ordered but can be had for under thirty bucks on eBay.

so there we go.

hopefully by this time next week this is all behind me…otherwise i am NOT gonna be a happy camper.
