i’ll take hypocrisy for $800, alex… (schooling the airports edition)

i’d like you to read the following quote from governor hot wheels…

Texas will not allow illegal religious discrimination at taxpayer-funded facilities.

it’s a no nonsense comment. it is a sound bite. it’s a solid political stance. it was said in conjunction with him trying to de-fund the entities that run airports in houston and dallas because they installed wudu washing stations, which are just lower basins so Muslim folk can do their pre-prayer washing. in his eyes we shouldn’t do this because it’s spending tax dollars on something that’s religiously discriminatory because it’s only designed to be used by one faith.

Just as the government cannot favor the secular over the sacred, it also cannot favor one religious view over all others.

that’s another line out of the same interview.

keep in mind this is the same gubernatorial candidate (and three term governor) that has also planned on denying funds to schools that don’t post the ten commandments in their classrooms and also teach stories out of the christian bible as part of the reading curriculum. no stories from the torah, the quran, the shruti, the satanic bible, etc…just the christian one.

so how the fuck is that not favoring “one religious view over all others”? because, in the words of mayor adam west (from family guy), it’s not the “brown, smelly god”? it’s good to know this guy…
