hard to believe it’s been a couple years already…

(and that was after it was postponed a year and a half)

i’ve seen the stones three times total. the first was when they played austin the very first time which, to most folk’s surprise, wasn’t actually until 2006 on the bigger bang tour. that was the tour they skipped their usual haunts of dallas and houston for el paso and austin. i caught the latter, obviously.

the next time was in 2019 in houston which i excused to myself because, hey – what are the chances they’ll tour again? glad i did it, because at least one of em didn’t.

(interesting side note – it was either right before or right after tickets for that last austin show went on sale that they announced, for undisclosed reasons, charlie wouldn’t be on the tour. he was dead within months.)

so when they announced the show in austin i jumped on it because…hey? what are the chances…

well, now they are again. and as the ufc pointed out, you can tell they know their target demo given their main corporate sponsor this time around…

yep – sponsored by aarp, and the tour kicks off in houston, their only texas date. i gotta be good and get my finances right to get another car going in about a year, so it’s a pass for me this time, which i figure might be the last time? i’ve figured that before…
