scooter shrapnel situation

here’s the thing about my birth city that’s been bugging me lately:

all these damn scooters that just get abandoned all over the austin area. not just downtown, and not all upright like the pic. usually they’re just dropped and laying down, making large parts of the city look like my neighbor’s yard since he lets his kids just scatter their toys across the grass (i’m currently looking at a bike, a scooter, and a pink plastic grocery cart getting soaked in the rain).

i think it looks trashy as all fuck. and now it’s on every corner in austin.

i’m wondering how long this trend lasts before the law reins it in – it happened with the douche flute (i.e. vaping). hopefully this ain’t far behind!
