so here’s today’s debate…
which looks better – camo or black?
it’s the oakley “big kitchen” backpack, which is ridiculous in size and storage – but was on a ridiculous sale through most of the black friday / cyber monday week so i got the black one because the camo one didn’t show on the site at the time…but it’s out there, and i CAN exchange it. but should i?
i think the camo looks a bit cooler, but i own several oakley bags and they’re ALL black. so if i wanna even slightly match i need to stick with what i got (although nothing i own has those slightly obnoxious red tabs). i feel like the camo would hide stains and such better, but the black would be more “timeless”? i don’t see myself carrying this as my daily – the much smaller “bathroom sink” backpack works well for that:
to briefly explain the odd names – a couple years ago oakley developed a really killer bag called the “kitchen sink”, as in “holds everything but…”. i liked it, but it was a bit more bag than i even came close to needing and it was pricey ($200). when i got a whim to get a bag they’d come out with a smaller version called “the bathroom sink (above in it’s “stealth” version) which was $150 but i had a friends and family coupon that took it down to around a bill. i love the bag, but after last summer’s vegas excursion was able to be done with a single bag (and knowing southwest will let you check two) i wondered if a bigger backpack might not be a bad call for traveling. the “big kitchen” (the larger version of the original kitchen sink) retails for $250 but was down to a bill for black friday…but only showed black at the time, now i can’t decide if i’d rather do the camo thing.
again, white folk problems…
I like the black one better. Hell, I even like the red zipper tabs.
Basic black. Goes with everything including camo.
i went that way for economic reasons, actually – by the time the bag came in it was back up to $125 on the website and $200 at the “outlet” (?!?) and i was expected to pay the difference if i wanted to swap out colors, which wasn’t worth it to me…
