is she really going out with him?

one of my worst fears is happening before my eyes…

…i’m becoming one of THOSE people.

i have a friend. no names mentioned. and i was curious if she’d actually hooked up with this guy that i met at a happy hour once as i noticed her last couple updates of facebook had pics of him in them.

but did i call and ask her? no.

did i text? no.

i checked her facebook status to see if it said “single” or “in a relationship” – but it was blank. so THEN did i call or text? nopers – i just resolved myself to the fact i just wouldn’t know for now.

that’s just sad…remember the good old days when we actually SPOKE to each other? i actually found out about an old acquaintance’s divorce this way. i had no idea anything was wrong than POW – status change announcement from “married” to “single”. used to be you’d just see ’em in a bar with another girl and put two and two together.

and it doesn’t stop there.

a friend will text me “what do you think of my latest facebook picture update”? she could have just as easily SENT me the pic (in place of sending a text) and ask…but no. now i have to log in to a website through my phone browser, search for her under friends, then click on the pic.

much easier.

i think for 2K10 we need to resolve to be LESS technology driven – time to live la vida amish…sorta. it’s not like we need to give up the necessary evils of the world like cell phones and dvr’s and stuff.
