so, let’s get a little back to normal…

…whiskey wednesday!

i picked this up because i typically do my liquor run whilst i do my shop runs on monday but the monday of SnoVid that was no go so i ran out of whiskey and had to risk the snow and ice for the sake of my heritage. i trekked all the way out to the bigger liquor store on the other side of town after a friend had announced “the liquor store is open!” on facebook only to discover he meant the smaller one by the grocery store, which was much closer to the house AND has a drive up window (which is the only way they’re operating now due to CoVid). i told them i wanted bushmill’s, they handed me a bag, and i paid cash, tossing the bag in the passenger seat…but when i turned onto the square (gently) while my car thankfully didn’t slide, my bottle rolled across the seat.

why was that an issue? because bushmill’s is bottled in square glass that doesn’t roll.

i checked the bag to find i had jameson, and while to JAB or shane that’s better to me not so much. so i had to pull a u-turn between brick planters in the ice and snow to go back and trade out, but they didn’t have the standard stuff so i picked this.

it’s not bad, and does have all the flavor of normal bushmill’s with a little something extra to it. is it ten bucks extra or whatever the price difference is? no. if i was at a regular liquor store that had the standard stuff by it where a liter of white costs as much as a fifth of this would i have gone home with it? no. but would i pay extra to get this versus jame-o? nope. but if you haven’t tried it, give it a swig – wouldn’t invest in a bottle, though. just grab a shot somewhere.
