betty’s back (sorta)

it’s amazing how my physical issues have been slowing me down…

…especially on my days off.

my days off both follow route days, which tend to take quite a bit out of me. the dual “friday-saturday” routes do especially, making me typically pretty useless on sundays. the main victims of this have been my rides, which has really been upsetting to me. betty in particular has been up on a jack stand since the beginning of the summer (or before) and needs to get back on all fours and, if her engine will act right, back on the road.

it’s the little things that ruined this.

specifically, the bumper reflector. when she got rammed by the deer, it knocked out her blacked out bumper reflector on the right side. i bought a new set when i bought the one’s for m, which i installed quite a while back and even posted a pic…

i bought hers around the same time but have since misplaced em. most sundays for the last month i’ve spent looking for them. the problem was, to me, it made zero sense putting her wheel back on without them just to have to take it off later to install them. plus, i had to put the wheel well liner back together and back in, after said reflectors and before the wheel, so it was kind of a process. yesterday we “processed”.

i haven’t restarted her yet (last time there was some weird engine chugging and smoke, but no code, and this was after an oil and filter change, plus new vanos solenoids (per the code she through then and before) and sea foam in the gas tank, and i doubt a few more months of sitting has helped her, but we shall see. next day off is wednesday, and the schedule is clear, but i need to get gray’s tires did, m’s brakes did, and quinn’s mirror did, in addition to just starting betty and seeing where it takes us. can i go four for four on wednesday? honestly, hell to the no. but it only take three outta four to win the playoffs, so let the games begin!
