it’s hard to believe that when this page started, back in ought two, i woulda spent today working willie’s picnic…

…and this year, twenty-four years later, i’ll “celebrate” by running between fourteen tattoo shops.

i have to admit, even without the copious work today it doesn’t feel like much of a holiday. it’s sad that it’s become all about “that guy”, which is what he wanted. that’s why his supporters are turning out in droves to support “their favorite president” at his state fair…

i was only five the year of our bicentennial, but i remember lots of flags and stickers of the liberty bell, and uncle sam, and all kinds of other patriotic shit. i hate that now, if you’re celebrating, people think you’re celebrating and supporting him.

fuck that – there are approximately 342,600,000 americans and this belongs to all of us – white, black, brown, whatever…gay, straight, bi, whatever…male, female, somewhere in between – all of us own today, not just a tangerine skinned, racist, xenophobic, homophobic serial rapist and felon and bigot that so much of the country sought to give the highest office in the land to and then laughingly say they support law and order.

those motherfuckers don’t need our scorn – they just need help.

so take today back for yourself by consuming an animal that lived and died here, or perhaps by blowing up a small part of the country with a (legal for today) explosive. i’m gonna go sell tattoo supplies and get back home to comfort the dogs in their hour of panic.
