i suck at pain management, apparently

i think i might be done with acupuncture…

…yes, after only two visits.

i had high hopes for this, and more so for the last one. we seemed like we communicated better, and i felt like things were more “in tune” to what i might need. we used more electricity (both in strength and frequency) but, in addition to back and hips and knees, he kept putting them in odd places like my fingers and hands and one dead center of my forehead.

while i know that there are acupressure points all over us, that “control” various things, and that could easily explain it, the forehead one apparently, once removed, produced a single drop of blood, which he commented on with that exact phrase, and i replied, “that’s pretty good – trust a guy who’s shaved his head for decades…head wounds typically bleed a lot!”

with that he pushed his thumb down between my eyebrows hard. as of this writing (four days later) i still have a bruise and a scar where the needle was. i didn’t go into this for facial modification.

i’m sure he’s a bad ass at what he does, i think i just suck at communicating what is needed. or maybe not? i told a physical therapist what i thought was wrong, he did a thorough exam, and agreed. then he started talking about chakras and such i was out. but i explained the same thing to my chiropractor, and when he felt around, he agreed as well.

so maybe it’s not me, per se, but just the way we both communicate, the acupuncturist and i?

either way, i have a week off this week from it due to finances and the whole “friday the 13th” thing in the tattoo industry, so i’m gonna see how i feel after this weekend. it should be a bit more casual (physically) than others have been lately, so i’ll see where it takes me mentally and monday i’ll call and cancel or call and confirm.
