the best government money can buy (again)

so, two judicial notes from over the weekend…

…a wisconsin judge, who got her law degree in 1987, and has spent the majority of her career running charitable organizations to help the poor and unfortunate, was arrested by the trump administration because, upon learning that ICE was waiting outside her courtroom to deport a defendant, walked he and his lawyer out the side jury door rather than send him out where they were waiting. she is charged with abetting and obstruction. her term is not set to expire until 2028, and she was last elected in 2022, when she ran unopposed. she is currently incarcerated.

meanwhile…

…a nevada judge, who has never had a law degree, and had been arrested AND convicted of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud stemming from her raising $70,000.00 for a memorial statue commemorating two police officers killed in the line of duty. she used the money for various personal expenses, including plastic surgery, her daughter’s wedding, and political campaign expenses for her failed attempt at being nevada state treasurer. needless to say there is not, nor was there probably ever to be, a statue. she was recently denied an appeal for a second trial and was awaiting sentencing this week when she got a presidential pardon. i’ll let you guess her political affiliation.

this is america.
