so, originally i was gonna wait and write this “live”, the morning after the election…
…but i couldn’t help myself, so we’ll have a two part bit.
“if you don’t vote for me you’re not going to have a country any more” – so uttered the gop candidate any chance he could. his supporters hear “the libs will ruin your country” and his opponents SHOULD have heard “if you don’t vote for me my base will be trying to take your country from you”. didn’t hear that? just me? i’ll leave this right here…
but i’ll add a positive note – it’s over. i mean, not really. even typing this the day before i know that’s the case. no way things have been definitively called, and when they are one side is gonna cry “FOUL!” if they don’t prevail regardless of any “proof” or “evidence” or “reality” to the contrary. but the signs in the yard? the texts? the ads? all the bullshit? well, all but that last one should be over. and regardless of which side you took, that’s relief we can all welcome.
oh, and one more time (hopefully just one?)
————-ELECTION NIGHT BARRIER————-
well, in a word, FUCK. but let’s try and look at a positive – your constantly pissed off MAGA friends should happier than a pig in shit this morning, so let’s try to accentuate the positive and look at that. it is somewhat of election tradition to promise all kinds of shit and NOT deliver, right? so maybe that will be the case and all won’t be as bad as i fear? as my wife has pointed out a few times – i’m a bald white fifty-something male driving a bmw…i am far from what these folks wanna “go after”. with everything else i’ve got going on (numerous car issues across two vehicles, death of a friend recently, etc) this really isn’t as big a deal to me, in my current head state, as it probably should be. nothing should really be happening just yet, so let’s see where this takes us for now.
