why? because as part of the sanctions against russia due to that whole “unprovoked invasion of ukraine” thing the comrades don’t get to broadcast on youtube channels. i think that’s interesting. it’s not like the company banned russia from having ACCESS to youtube, pornhub did to texas due to the whole minors thing. oh no, russia can still SEE youtube, and the ads thereon (naturally), but certain russian accounts were suspended so the platform isn’t used to spread russian propaganda.

so that giant number is russia coming to the defense of…fucking influencers? seriously? i don’t think america would even do that kinda of move and we invented the fucking term “influencer”. i mean, aren’t the russians all about that ‘state tv’ of theirs?
