thursday (non)throwback bit – when did this happen?

you know what i see all over the place now but DON’T remember until recently?

date night.

i don’t remember any couple, married or not, ever talking about “date night” until the last couple years. even a married couple i’ve known for a while – date night wasn’t in the lexicon a while back, but it is now.

is this a new concept?

i don’t remember hearing it until the last year or two – and being damn near forty it’s not like i’m new to having married friends. you know what i DON’T fucking get? friends of mine that aren’t even MARRIED and call a night out with girlfriend “date night”. news flash – you’re NOT married, you’re still DATING. every time you go out, it’s fucking date night! it’s kind of in the title and all.

i’m just sayin’.

so, when did this come about?

and on another subject, am i the only person that thinks it’s funny that tickemaster keeps sending me email after email making sure i don’t miss ozzy in san antonio? love the guy – even more so since i read the book, and will most DEFINITELY be at the show – but isn’t this the city that banned him? good to see they came around full circle and shit!
