after almost seven years, an astrowhore first

i never thought i’d ever have to do this, but it’s a bit of a journalistic tradition…

…i gotta print a retraction.

never thought i’d do it, but it seems to be needed – ’cause i think i cursed myself.

i have, on several occasions so far in 2K9, referred to this as “the year of the whore”. even commented on the last one (which had a “?” in the title) that clearly this was accurate, and that “ac delco parts were the hook up” for my car troubles.

at 6:23am monday morning this became doubtful on a couple levels – that’s when my headlights went out AGAIN (thank god it didn’t happen at 3am sunday while flying through some random neighborhood on my way to NOT sleep…and not for happy naked reasons) but in mustang ridge, speed trap and then some, they went dark. on the upside i made it to a convenience store safely, had some mid-grade breakfast tacos (good innards and price, shitty store bought tortillas) and waited for the sun to come up so i could get to work. dropped another $45 i don’t have on a third headlight switch in a week, then came home minutes before dusk. tomorrow i get to go look for a garage that hopefully will let me pay things out and not bend me over prison-style since i didn’t even really have the $45 to spare i had to drop on the part.

so, i guess the “luck” i discussed previously (of not getting busted, not being in the middle of b.f.e. when this happens) still exists, the financial pain and suffering combined with my (probable) impending unemployment makes me think it’s not so much the year of the whore…

…maybe it’s just me.

so, if anybody knows how to help me self-diagnose (and quickly fix) autmotive electrical issues, hit the email link. i’m hoping this all gets resolved quickly and cheaply…but the way my life has been going lately, well…
