the year of the whore after all?

so far it’s more like the year of the car issue…

…which i guess means this could still be the YEAR of the whore, it’s just so far the WEEK of the car issue. after missing a day of work (which may or may not be going bye-bye soon) last week i get to miss at least another half day today as the rain pours down (so you can’t drive without headlights lest you get pulled over) and last night (monday night, that is) i got about ten minutes from the house when the battery gauge dipped, i smelled something burning in my dash, and the el cheapo autozone headlight switch up and died in a blaze of glory (almost literally).

it wasn’t hot to the touch like the old one had been, but it sure as hell went out with a nice, smokey smell (so pleasant on a winter’s night) and hopefully only signals that autozone electronics suck, not that there are bigger problems at play. time will tell. as this IS being written on tuesday morning (ruining some of the magic here, i guess – hell, at least it’s not six weeks in advance like it was for a while there) we’ll see how the rest of today plays out. i should probably work a little late due to this, which means driving home in the dark – hopefully not an issue. roll your dice, take your chances…
