thursday irony bit

part of the problem with my weekend schedule is it isolates me from pretty much ANYTHING else going on around me…

…take the texas wildfire thing.

when i went and grabbed breakfast the other day i saw the story about (what was then) just under a million acres burning in west texas. apparently, in addition to that, there was a decent-sized on in the austin area as well.

now, ’cause of my fucked up sprint internet (which when i got it seemed like a god-sent but now i find myself couting the months left on the contract to ditch ’em and get direct tv high speed and be done with it) i can’t research what they think (or know) caused the stuff out in west texas – but word around the breakfast table the other day was that the one in austin was started by bum fires…

…note i said “bum fires”, NOT that despicable (but occasionally hilarious) “bum FIGHTS” website – something tells me the guys that made it aren’t homeless. although one never knows.

the irony is this – homeless guys, who due to their lack of residence have to camp in the woods and cook over an open fire find their “stove” getting away from them and the result was MORE homeless folks as at least eight houses burned to the ground once it moved into suburbia (“it” being the fie).

tragic, but ironic – like several parts of my life, actually…but never mind that now.
