not what the doctor ordered…and that’s just fine

so, i did the needful over the last couple of days…

…i set an appointment for my first tattoo since 2023. and let my boss know i was taking the day off.

it’s been a long time coming…and even back in 2023 it wasn’t NEW new shit. it was finally finishing a piece we’d started about ten years before and i’d been walking around with the outline on. once that project was finally done it felt like a weight was lifted off me as i didn’t have any incomplete work on me for the first time in a decade, so i just chilled.

some have theorized my walking issues might stem from my legs longing to be tattooed; being constantly teased as i walk in and out of dozens of tattoo shops a week while they remain untouched. there might be some truth to this.

so we have a (semi) plan – juneteenth, no time set yet. not gonna discuss the design (which was drawn up a couple months ago) but it’ll be done by my buddy kristian, who was my original tattoo artist back in 90’s. it’s a nice full circle piece, and soon after he heads off to hawaii to take care of his mom and ink tourists in paradise.

and who knows – maybe this will kick off a wave of new work being done? i’m not sure if that’ll happen – i’ve got one or two more planned after this, and then i’m kinda out of fresh ideas, and see no reason to rush to get more done, although my skin ain’t gettin’ any younger…
