decomp that doesn’t stink

sue us, we watch too many crime shows in this house…

…so when i was told i was being taken to the “decomp room” i pictured a room they take the corpses to rot. apparently that’s not the case, and i’ve made a young doctor rethink her terms, but never mind that now.

we all know our phones listen to us, and the other day i came home talking about a treatment someone had recommended – spinal decompression. i looked it up and found a spot that was near the shop, had an intro $49 special (this is apparently the standard), and they’d look at imaging you brought from elsewhere, consult, and if they thought you were worthy, but you on the rack (i.e. the machine that literally mechanically stretches out your spine).

but before i could do it, another ad popped up that week, this time in san marcos (closer), included x-rays (bonus), but stated they flatly would NOT put you on the rack for the first time at $49.

bummer.

then came kyle – a “limited amount of spots” (i don’t think they’re as limited as they make them out to be), included images, consult, AND the rack for $49.

so that went down today and honestly, for the first time, i walked out feeling improvement. okay, that’s not true – it wasn’t the first time. i did feel a bit of a relief from my chiropractor here in town, but definitely more from the decompression machine. and infinitely more than acupuncture ($100 a session) or that physical therapy ($150 a session) and i’m told i can just use the machine for $50 a throw (we’ll see after next appointment to go over imaging and such) but it was enough to where i set up another appointment already two weeks out (i would have done one, but my schedule doesn’t have space till then).

i’m sure in a couple days i’ll feel stiff again, but this definitely gives a glimmer of hope that i hadn’t experienced yet so maybe all isn’t lost here. time will tell…
