but we can’t take a joke?

so, here’s what i don’t get about the jack-wagons that count themselves as “the right” in the modern political landscape…

…they justify comments about loving hitler, and putting your political opposition in gas chambers, and shit like that from “young republicans” (ages 24 to 34 for the most part) as just “jokes” that we need to learn take and accept. in contrast, when teachers (most of which are in the same age bracket) point out that a pseudo-christian podcaster got shot after, multiple times, saying such deaths were needed to help keep the second amendment out there they should be fired and their careers ruined for all eternity.

fun fact – jesus said “love thy neighbor”, not “love thy neighbor UNLESS they’re not straight, white, and christian”…could be due to editorial concern on space? or due to the fact that neither christians NOR white people had ever been seen by the folks that wrote the bible?

this is not that kinda story.

so, back in 2024 a group of arizona high school math teachers decided to do a group halloween costume. because their student council had done a “zombie run” fund raiser, they got shirts off amazon done up with fake blood to appear to be their victims that had “problem solved” on the front because that’s also a math pun…

due to the economy and such being what it is, they decided to recycle the costume this year. but when the pics came out the idiots that go after such shit took it as a slam to their neuvo savior, charlie kirk, whom i’d never heard of till the south park episode making fun of him, which he enjoyed so much he made the cartman with his hair his x profile pic.

the school got so many obscene and threatening calls (including multiple death threats) that they had to add extra sheriff patrols and their councilor has been working overtime to help the kids freaking out. what’s fun is, even though they are a small school in an unincorporated area just outside of tuscon, they DO have a turning point usa chapter (conservative student group started by kirk) who has said they stood by the teachers and even made a couple (i’ll assume unintentional) math puns in their statement, saying “we recognize that emotions and tensions have run high and we cannot express enough empathy for the massive misunderstanding it has multiplied into,” and “our goal as a club remains as it should always be, to foster respectful and healthy conversation, not to divide or harm.”

so at least, as the who says, the kids are alright. now if the idiot adults, who love to hide behind their phones and keyboards, would only follow suit.
