sunday foursome (not a golf bit)

well, that was ripe with surprises…

…and not all of em were good.

mr. grey – 2001 bmw 330ci convertible – took him out for a drive about so fluids could circulate and percolate. all went well with no surprises. this set a tone that wasn’t really matched.

black betty – 2011 bmw 535i sedan – after getting the hood to finally lift and topping off coolant, i figured the only annoyance would be the washer fluid light but instead the belt snapped midway through the ten mile “circulate and percolate” run, but i made it home. belt ordered. might have to buy pulleys, too. time to heal her up a bit more before we get back on the road.

quin – 2015 bmw x1 suv (nik’s ride) – just had to do a cabin air filter. opened the box to find we were charged for one, but they sent us THREE. i suggested we maximize this and set up a return, sending back one of the three, and then instead of getting three for the price of one, we get two for literally nothing. this was vetoed. my wife is a better person than me.

m – 2016 bmw 435i m sport coupe – this was just supposed to be a store run, but it wasn’t that easy. i pushed the button and rather than starting a warning came up not to drive because the hood was up…but it wasn’t. i pushed the button again and she tried to start but didn’t, now throwing a starter/ignition warning, but the hood one went away. thinking it was the battery (which can cause all kinds of weird electronic messages and such) i tried my jump box to no avail. same with nik’s. so, i backed grey up to get his new battery close and hooked up old fashioned jumper cables, and then went inside for five minutes while it trickle charged, and she started. off to autozone we went, bad battery as i expected, and $260 later we were good.

and that’s pretty much the end of my sunday, as far as productive shit is concerned.
