so, wrapping up all that bullshit…

…the tire incident appears to be behind me.

shipping got a bit delayed, so the tire arrived tuesday night instead of wednesday night, which honestly was for the best. had the tire arrived monday, and i’d gone to do it tuesday morning before work, i would have had a really late start, and had to rush things, so if i parked my car all day and came back to the new tire flat after it sat for a few hours, i’d have just been fucked.

after i checked six different tire spots in four counties only to have to just order the fucking thing myself, i went ahead and matched what died – same make, model, size, even tread depth for the most part. and the place did it all for under $120 shipped (all spots had quoted me “around two hundred or so”).

the real positive for it coming in tuesday was i was off wednesday, so no rush and no timeline. went, got it done, and all appears to be pretty solid. i got some fix-a-flat just in case it started up with the small leak the rim had had previously, but so far haven’t needed it and it’s been almost a week! that being said, last time junior sealed it up it took about ten days before the slow leak presented, which fix-a-flat…well…fixed.

so time will tell, but so far so good! it’s kinda sad when life kicks you so much that when there’s finally some positive you can’t enjoy it because you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop.
