guess it ain’t THAT big an emergency?

i’m confused about a “rule of the road”, as it were…

…so, i know you’ve got an emergency vehicle coming up behind you, you’re supposed to pull off to the side and let it pass. so, when i was coming home a lil’ early on july 4th, that’s what i did. out on an open road, which at the time was clear and basically dry.

it cleared past me and i got back out on the road, but a weird thing started to happen when i hit sixty miles per hour; i started gaining on the firetruck. pretty quickly. i thought i was speeding…but i looked up and saw we were in the area where it was sixty-FIVE for a speed limit. and at only sixty, i passed him.

i then started contemplating what i needed to do from here. am i supposed to pull over AGAIN and let them pass? or just keep going?

i just sped up to seventy-one and kept going. ain’t my fault you ain’t in a hurry!
