…this has been one long ass first day of a presidency.

i don’t understand why people keep letting the nacho cheese dorito in charge do whatever the fuck he wants and basically wipe his ass with the constitution and it’s all just fine in their eyes. they’re the “law and order party” unless you try and actually apply the laws to them?

no state religion, the constitution says? yeah, they just meant none except christianity, right? we all know that! EXCEPT, no – that’s not what it says. it says NO STATE RELIGION. “freedom of speech” means that you have the right to express your opinions in this country EVEN IF THE RED HAT CROWD DOESN’T LIKE WHAT YOU SAY. that’s what they don’t seem to get – just because you don’t like it, doesn’t mean it’s wrong or inaccurate. it’s like they have no coping mechanisms, so if they don’t like it they just try to make it illegal. there are plenty of countries out there where that’s the way it goes, but america ain’t one of ’em…or it least it’s not supposed to be.

which brings us to today. today is the NCDIC’s birthday. it’s also flag day. to quote the great politician, “diamond joe” quimby, it can be two things. but it’s also the birthday of the u.s. army, so someone finally got their military parade they’ve always wanted. he was shooting for a big, crowded, flag waving spectacle like he saw in france…

and while this has nothing to do with the whole crowd size reference i’m trying to achieve here, i thought this image was cool, so we’ll throw it in real quick…

the washington affair, by comparison, was very sparsely attended…

i actually saw a video where the streets along the main parade route were so quiet (the rock music you heard on tv was actually played only on the broadcast, not at the event, apparently) that i could hear the squeaking of the tank wheels, which “sounded like an old shopping cart in need of grease” to quote rolling stone magazine.

all in all, it was a pathetic display by a pathetic man with a pathetic stench.
