i think all i did was move the desk? (a flashback)

ah, back in the simpler times before budnik was budnik…

live from the (semi) new joint! (NOT a flashback about weed…or a flashback at all, actually)

three days and an open head wound and we’re ALMOST done…

…oh, and i didn’t move, either.

no – but this is the first entry in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time that’s being done in my home office – which will soon be reloaded and reorganized. in that order. probably with a few days in between those two steps. the last time i was doing whore bits in my home office was back when i still had alex’s pc here. i think that was september or october of 2k7 – so, three years later, my office is actually an office again – kinda.

see, it goes like this – when i bought my latest notebook (in january of this year) i was all hyped ’cause i could do the docking station thing. bought a docking station to go with it – just couldn’t afford all the stuff you hook up from there. but then i got it all in hand by july, it’s just i didn’t want to set it all up the way the office WAS. i’m starting to realized i reorganize spaces after they become “mine” (i.e. ex’s move out, or family dies, or whatever) so they feel like i’m starting fresh. so, i didn’t want the office set up the way it HAD been – i wanted it all brand-new feeling and shit. that being said, dell has a “no questions asked thirty day return policy” (which is a BULLSHIT term ’cause they ask plenty of questions when you return shit – i know, ’cause i used to ask them) and i wanted to make sure the new monitor and such worked so i hooked it all up on my dining room table…being just me in the house, it’s not like i sit there to eat too often – so that became the desk in july, and all was well…

…until the reality hit me that said table would be needed next saturday for the annual christmas lasagna. and if i had to move the shit, i figured i might as well move the desk and get the office at least SOMEWHAT set up. and if all the furniture was gonna have to move anyway, i figured i might as well paint. so, there we were – and so now my office is STILL piles of crap that needs to be organized and gone through, they’re just in different places, the desk is clean and set up, and the room still wreaks of paint – which i figure the fumes can only HELP my creativity, right?

that’s my theory and i’m sticking to it – and miss copper, the lil’ dude, and the leprechaun that’s wrestling with them agrees…

(wait – leprechaun? okay – maybe i need to open a window and get some fresh air in here to dilute the paint fumes after all!)
