i love when corporate marketing goes awry…
…and while my entire house smells of various bath and body works products (and that’s not a bad thing) we somehow ended up avoided purchasing this during it’s brief shelf run:
while i’m sure it woulda sold out in record time with the red had crowd, since they’re clearly dreaming of more than just a white xmas, the candle was pulled off the shelf for obvious bad optics. it’s always amusing because we’ve all seen mad men or have some insight into how corporate marketing and advertising work. we know ONE person didn’t look at this and say, “go with it!”. it went in front of executives…focus groups…the art department…etc…etc…and got the thumbs up all the way.
and i guess we now know what color those thumbs were. someone needs a DEI hire stat!
