ever since i got it i’ve wondered…

…what the fuck do you do with an old apple card?

it’s a legit question. every time i have a card expire and the new one comes in i shred the old one. it’s honestly one of the main reason i bought a damn shredder. then the apple card came in and i wondered – how do you shred this? it’s made from titanium (as most metal cards are) so it’s not going to shred in a normal shredder. so what the fuck do you do?

microwave it?

shoot it?

let the phyfe dog chew on it? (he’ll chew on practically ANYTHING)

i figured, worse case scenario, i’d take a drill to the stripe in a couple of places and straight through the heart of the chip. that ought to to do it, right?

well now, thanks to an email, i have my answer – they send you an envelope to send it back. i have to admit – even though it’s maxed out, i don’t know if the original card has ever left the envelope it came in save for me pulling it out to look at it when i first got it. all my purchases with it have been online where i just use a virtual card, which has changed numerous times over the last couple months thanks to the chinese watch thing somehow triggering a couple of random fraudulent charges.

at least i know how they finally reach their end now, i suppose.
