it’d be cooler if you did

i should quickly note this early in october is NOT cool in texas…

…and that’s what made this suck.

so, sunday i mowed the yard and then went to run errands while still all sweaty and gross. why? because one of the errands was to replace the PVC cap off the sewer clean out that i’d sheared off with the mower…again. i think this makes the third one or so. typically i buy them from ace hardware, but they’re closed on sundays. and it turns out all FOUR places in town that carry such things are closed on sundays. this prompted me come home and proclaim that jesus, or at least his followers, wanted us to have open sewers for a day. you know, like they had in biblical times.

but on the way back i had something NOT worth joking about happen on the way back – the ac stopped working in my car. it seemed like it had taken a while to cool off lately, so i figured it was just low on refrigerant, which i’d never had to add and the car is sitting at over 264,000 miles so it made sense. i brought her home, hopped in mr. grey (who’s ac works after i added refrigerant several years earlier) and went and bought the $50 canister. it comes with a gauge that allows you to check and see if you even need it before you break the seal so it’s still returnable if that’s not your problem.

that wasn’t my problem.

so i returned that this morning on my way in to german auto center, who agreed to get me in even though they’re booked out two weeks. i had looked at some videos which indicated it COULD be a fuse, but the few i checked were fine, so i just took her in. turns out it was the compressor, and they got it done quick, and i was returning their loaner audi back before 3:30. after a generous discount the estimated price was met and a discover balance shot up four figures. what freaked me out was the AC worked great when i drove her in, but it turns out ambient temp comes into play when it comes to strain and stress on a compressor, so the cool morning temps helped. tested out weak as shit, but all is replaced and better now.
