uncharted waters

well, he did it…

…as i kinda hoped.

it wasn’t the one i HOPED would drop out, but i knew that wasn’t gonna happen. i’ll openly admit – i was one of the first people i knew to legitimately think the attempted assassination thing was staged, but when there’s photographic proof you kinda have to take it at face value. that being said, i wanna see this wound. i can honestly say i’ve had more blood on my face from nicking my ear shaving my head than he did, and i didn’t need a gauze pad even an hour later, let alone four days. it should be noted, however, that he is a well known germaphobe so it might be at his insistence, in addition to the whole “showmanship” bullshit. i mean, head wounds bleed a lot – even small ones. this one was less than half the size of a dime and only on the top couple layers of skin…

and that wasn’t on the ear, which is a LOT more vascular. again, just ask any of us that shave our heads – we’ve nicked it and been late to work because of the delay. they just don’t stop bleeding even when they’re, quite literally, razor thin.

i have a friend i call “watts” (his last name, so denoted because we had technically three “michael’s” in our group of four friends, but since i went by my middle name we called either of them by their lasts) who is a hard core trump fan. we see eye to eye on lots of things, just not politics. as a result, we don’t talk too much about them, save for occasionally making fun of biden’s age, or trump’s hair, or something like that. we do both agree we’d be happier with younger candidates this time around.

one of the other few political agreements we have is about kamala harris. while i would love to think of our country as forward thinking and psychologically advanced enough to elect a woman of color, or even just a woman, as president, i don’t think enough folks are there yet for the numbers to jive out. i just don’t. i don’t care if it’s oprah. i just don’t see it. i’d LOVE to see it. i’ll be one of the ones that votes for her. but once again, at this stage of things, i’m not really voting for her, i’m voting against/em> him. and that’s a difference i’m hoping changes before november – let’s try and get rid of this “lesser of two evils” thing, and get back to some actual progress and growth, or, at the very least, stability and sense.
