okay, i don’t say that…
…but i seem to be the only person who doesn’t.
as i try to keep this shit current, i decided the travan martin case should be addressed here. there will be six little factoids, all just my opinion, but that’s what site is, iddin’ it? and after this no more will be said on the topic, unless some tasteless joke about it seeps in to a bit completely unrelated (see my george zimmerman comment a bit or two back).
first shot (tacky, but what can you do) – if zimmerman was black and travon wasn’t, would this even have made the news? would there be any debates? and then if he had been found guilty would we have to see the same talking heads we always see when there’s “racial injustice” which makes me wonder why the term “racial” is used instead of “black” ’cause, let’s face it, when the “victim” (in quotes in this case for a few reasons) isn’t black it’s never called “racist”…
second shot – …speaking of the “racial injustice” and the talking heads that always seem to pop up when it happens, i want to get on the diet al sharpton is on…he seems to have lost a LOT of weight. still the impossibly tacky hair, and now that i think about it, does he even have a job other than bitching when this kind of shit happens? hell, maybe that’s where all the weight went – couldn’t afford food since the last “racial injustice”?
third shot – as i put on facebook, “while the media has the whole nation focusing on a legal case in florida that is over and has ZERO impact on our daily lives, has anybody noticed gas went up over a dime a gallon in just a day?”. all kinds of comments of support, no discerning opinions…not sure if any of my black friends quietly deleted me or not. doesn’t seem like it…
fourth shot – kudos to all the black communities on NOT rioting on this one. i know this seems stupid, to give props to people for doing what they should do anyway – but there’s been some history here, and i’ve never understood why “racial injustice” equals “destroy our own shit”. hell, go to the wealthy white neighborhood and tear their shit up…or where zimmerman actually lives…not your own block. that makes ZERO sense!
fifth shot – if there is a civil trial and he’s again found not guilty, can you people (yeah, i said “you people”) finally let this shit go?
and finally…
sixth shot – let’s face it, despite all the debate, all the testimony, and all the bullshit, there’s only really two people that really know what happened – one of them was acquitted last weekend, and the other is the reason we had the trial in the first place, and he ain’t saying much. so actually KNOWING if this is “racial injustice” or that he was even an actual “victim” is pretty much impossible, hence the quotes every time i used the terms in this bit.
now this bullshit stand your ground law, that’s a whole different story i’ve addressed a time or two before…
