ya know what i don’t get?
why almost everybody was closed on easter.
HEB was closed. they were open on thanksgiving, at least for a few hours. same with christmas. but easter? nope – which is spooky. for the last decade, for me at least, it’s just been cheap chocolate eve. when my Mom was alive it was a big thing – and we even kept it going after Mom died when my Grandmother wasn’t in a home…but once she went? no more easter…it’s just the day before all the pastel-colored chocolate goes on clearance for me.
these things happen, i suppose…when you don’t have kids or family around for holidays to actually mean something, they just become another day.
so today (this is written at the shop on easter sunday) the phone keeps ringing off the hook with people curious if we’re open…but then they’re not coming in. these things happen. but what’s with everybody closing for easter? do they close for passover? yom kippur? ramadan? just curious…
