so, i was rolling out of a convenience store in mustang ridge, texas, when a friday night high school football convoy passed by. NOT an unusual sight in texas – a few buses for the team, cheerleaders, band and what not followed by an equipment truck or trailer. and this one was from shiner, texas – the same place world-renowned shiner bock comes from. funny thing is the town actually uses the same font and layout of their famous brew on EVERYTHING…even high school football shit. what was even MORE funny was their mascot on the side of the trailer:

see, they’re the shiner “comanches”, named after a native texan indian tribe. but for all the world this cartoon does NOT look indian to me – dot OR feather. as i passed it on the highway (when i got this pic) it looked like a blond white boy (hence the pic). now i can see it’s supposed to be an indian head dress but for all the world, to me, it STILL looks like a big muscular white boy in purple and yellow. kinda like of the minnesota viking raped the washington redskin THIS would be their love child….which, with the shiner school colors being purple and yellow (same as the nfl minnesota vikings) that was just funny.

one would think a town of rich german heritage would embrace native…well…never mind. i guess the deutch folk aren’t really known for liking darker skinned people, are they? i just wonder if they’ve ever even SEEN a native american – doesn’t everybody gamble at shitty casinos?
