one little, two little, three little entries…
…all too short to be there own, so here they are keeping each other company and shit.
the end of an era…sorta
wednesday something died i never thought i’d see go – the african violet i got from my paternal grandmother’s funeral. it was her favorite flower, so my stepmother had a stroke of brilliance and had them make a spray to put on the casket out of seven individual plants – two for her living kids (she had three, but my uncle jeff died back in the 80’s) and five for us grandchildren (three cousins, me, and my sister). to my knowledge they all killed the others, but mine was still kicking – until out of the blue it started to whither about three weeks ago and died off this week. my theory? as lucky dude always slept in there next to it, it was his spirit that had kept it going, and now with him gone it just couldn’t go on…
tattle the teen – sounds illegal, but it’s not!
i saw this as a news blurb when i was on the treadmill yesterday and was against it – it’s a website where you can monitor your kids driving remotely, and even puts one of those “how’s my driving” stickers on the car with a unique i.d. number that lets people call in on a “how’s my driving?” number. it also allows for GPS tracking of the car. but after reading some of the stuff on the site, and how the sticker is designed to let people around know you’re new and to give you a wide berth as you’re learning your way around the roads and such, now i’m not sure it’s a bad idea…
this one, i warn you, is a little gross…
i had no ideas snails liked dog shit…
just an observation yesterday when i had a glass of bushmill’s on one hand and a cuban cigar in the other (thanks for that, by the way, “L”!)
and in addition to the six pictured there seven more en route to “the buffet”!
