the only word that should always be used in quotes

i’ve never been big into reality tv. i don’t know about you, but i use tv to ESCAPE reality. don’t get me wrong, i’m a big fan of the osbournes. and i did watch the anna nicole smith show once or twice, but that was just to write the piece on here. no “anna-thons” for me. no need to up the white trash factor of my world much above the sticker on my car, which will be removed soon for the dual purposes of it looking ratty AND i’m afraid it might start to ATTRACT them. but i digress…

survivor. american idol. the bachelor. real world. road rules. that “lord let me find a man in alaska” shit who’s name escapes me. never been a big fan of any of it. never cared. at all. but now? FINALLY fox has done me proud.

joe millionaire.

have you heard of this one? it starts monday, and i think this will be HUGE…’cause this one, when it comes out, will even be watched by GUYS. here’s the scheme…fifty women are brought to meet this guy who’s looking for a wife. he’s the typical tall, dark, charming, whatever and has JUST inherited $50,000,000.00 yet for some reason needs fox tv to help him find a bride (i don’t know HOW they got them to buy that bullshit…the fifty broads, that is).

but here’s the scam….he actually makes less a year than ME and HAS no inheritance. less than ME? do you have any idea how little that is? that’s below the taco bell tax bracket.

but they’re not telling the girls till the very end…and then we get to see if they’ll actually stick around. one woman’s cruelty is a nation of men’s amusement, i suppose. for once, a show i’ll probably follow to the end. guess we’ll see if it lives up to my expectations. and the real heroes? the ones that get to know him and honestly say, “even with the big stack of cash and all, this just doesn’t work…can we still be friends?” amazing who can end up being the hero in situations, isn’t it?

huh….hadn’t heard about this one yet.

The thing is, the only reason any of these people are doing it is for the chance to be on TV. That’s sad in itself.

You know, we’re such a nation of losers. We don’t NEED outside influences to blow us up. We do that ourselves with crap like Extreme Makeover, Big Brother, the Bachelor, et al. We’re morons. Seriously.
