that wasn’t alarming at all!

i leave to take os to his first day of seventh grade in five minutes…

…he’s already gotten himself up and made himself breakfast.

where was i?

i was snaking the main sewer drain which has been inexplicably and intermittently backing up a bit – just enough to pop one of the clean outs on the side of the house we never walk over to, but still not right and not pleasant. why was i doing this? not because it was that bad this morning. quite the contrary – it seems to be flowing fine now, which i’m taking as the calm before the storm so i hit to be safe…

…speaking of the “calm before…” it’s now started raining. three minutes to go.

no, i did it because my alarm was set for 7:42 due to his school now starting an hour later (to briefly explain the odd time, iphone snooze is nine minutes AND non-adjustable, so setting it eighteen minutes to the hour allows me to hit snooze twice and get up at zero hour) and i’d always told the ufc if i just had ONE MORE HOUR to sleep on school days i’d be fine, but i couldn’t crash out before midnight or close there to because my body is just NOT wired that way. that being said, i can go on six or seven hours of sleep just fine…

…i crashed just after midnight. i woke up just after seven. and got all this shit done before my alarm even went off. if this is how school day sleeping is gonna be going forward things are gonna be a LOT different this year. in a good way.
