the world’s fastest 900 number

does anybody even remember 900 numbers?

i just remember they were always ninety-nine cents a minute at a minimum…

…kinda like the nation’s fastest highway.

sometimes being good at math is good, sometimes bad. “bad” comes to mind when i easily work a month a year for free (true). “good” came as i keep getting behind on toll bills, and while the road is hella convenient when i’m heading in on a weekend, on the days (which are most) that i take 183 the bulk of the way and only use the toll for a ten mile stretch (to the tune of $2.50) i realized it barely shaves off two minutes and some change.

yes, i actually timed it. two or three times. both ways.

so i figure why rack of five bucks a trip to save five minutes? SOOOOOO not worth it to me – especially when the bill goes “bad” and they try to slap twenty-five bucks PER toll on for fees. fuck all that – no way in hell i’m paying that shit, we need to negotiate something more reasonable…

…but i digress…

…so, i’m back on the 183 for a good bit. as long as the lights stay blinking and the speed limit stays sixty-five it just doesn’t make sense to drop the dough at this point.
