iphone 6 (er)

some of you might think i titled this bit just so i’d pop up on a lot of google searches for a while…

…and you’d be right. but also this bit is about how i can finally take a second shot at doing the smart phone thing.

some of you might remember how the [first attempt] at this went.

well, this time i decided to not go crackberry, and due to the bit i’d done on android software beaming all your info back to the mothership i’m leaning towards the iphone. why? oddly enough, i can think of six reasons this sunday:

i don’t need to compensate – while i’d originally said “if i’m gonna have to get a phone i can’t wear like a pager in my pocket i might as well go as big as i can and get the note 2” i re-thought that the more i started noticing half the time i use my backpack’s phone holder that fits on my newer backpack that’s always with me at work – and that holder will hold a normal sized smart phone, but not the gigantic note 2. in addition…

i’m an impatient sumbitch – remember i felt kinda fucked when i had to wait this long, i sure as fuck didn’t wanna wait any longer. and while the iphone 5s will be out in a few months, and i’m sure so will the “note 3” which will drop the price of the “note 2” then i’ll just want the “note 3”. the iphone 5, as of this writing, is $100 cheaper on sprint.com and $50 cheaper on amazon mobile since i’m a returning sprint customer. kinda bullshit that NEW sprint customers get it for $159, or $40 LESS than the iphone 5, but nothing i can do about that ass-raping; plus, remember this only one of SIX reasons, ’cause there’s also…

once you go black… – say what you want, the iphone 5 just looks cooler than most of the androids. period. and if it doesn’t look cool enough for ya, there’s always…

the “stuff” factor – it’s been said to me by more than one phone person that iphones are currently HALF of the smart phone market. HALF. that means every other smartphone is made by apple, and the rest are made by whoever makes androids you like. for one half there’s htc, sony, motorola, lg, samsung, etc, etc, etc – and the other half is apple. period. that means there’s a lot more accessories for the iphone out there (and let’s face it, buying electronics these days is like buying a car – you don’t just buy it for what it is, but for what you can make it) and repairs of screens or what not are also about half the cost of the android shit because, again, they’re always in stock since one replacement screen covers one of every TWO phones out there. and of course…

i’m not spending my day off learning this fucking thing – i hear androids are more customizable, but iphones are easier to use. while i AM technically inclined, and by means not some kind of apple snob, this was a nice factor if it is in fact true. having never owned both i don’t know if it is. what i do know is…

the UFC has one – as does kramer and ME and JAB and…well, you get the idea. but her having one was truly a HUGE influence, because you can facetalk; and as we have fairly conflicting schedules this was a nice feature that currently doesn’t cross-pollinate between androids and iphones very well, if at all…so yes, to see her smiling face more often i got an iphone. fuck y’all, i’m in love.

since there are two sundays this month that will get sixers i’ll do some more research (and i’m sure shane will chime in his two cents in the interim) and present the case for the android on the next one, then make my decision by the end of the month. so goes the plan for now…

Awwww, face time would be a bonus that’s for sure…of course knowing us there maybe more than faces being shared. 😉
