saved by the net!

you know what’ll ruin a good sunday afternoon for me?

planning shit where i know i WON’T be home for the simpsons, family guy, etc, and forgetting to set the dvr. once i REALIZE i forgot to set it, it drives me nuts and shoots my mood in the foot for a good part of the afternoon. how sad is that? in this day and age of hulu and other sites i can very easily go to and watch the show after the fact, there’s just something that for me is SO not the same – i want to be on the couch. i want to view it through my tv. i want to use a fucking remote. is that so wrong?

well, my satellite folk at direct tv apparently saw my issue (or at least this one of many) and set it up to where you can set your dvr from any internet connection! i’d seen this on tv but was kinda wary about it – in it’s infant stages you had to have a land line phone line so they could “connect” to you…but no more! i hopped online up in austin, logged into my account (like when i pay my bill) and set it. i was so wary i still called shane (the hulu fucking master) to see…

a. if those shows were on hulu, which given the fact seth mcfarlane does a commercial for them i should guess so
b. how delayed they are in putting ’em up

got home and there was no need – they were all on my dvr, waiting for my sangrita-drunk ass to plop down on the couch and watch ’em. life was good…now i just need to figure out how to do it from my mobile phone (which they say you can do) and i’ll never have to watch live tv again!

…then i need a way to do this whore shit remotely so bits aren’t late like this one was!
